When we first started FOLO, our dream was never just about growing vegetables.
It was about cultivating something much deeper.
A place where people reconnect with nature. A place where strangers become neighbours.
A place where practical skills become opportunities to care for others.
That’s why we were excited to welcome EPIC Homes to FOLO Farm, creating a space where more people could learn practical building skills and discover how they can make a meaningful impact to more communities.
Over the day, participants learned how to safely use tools, measure, cut, assemble timber, and work as a team. For many, it was their very first time picking up a drill or saw. Yet by the end of the workshop, they had built much more than wooden structures.
They had built confidence.
But this workshop was never the destination.
It was the beginning.
On 9 August, we’ll be gathering again for the next round of the Basic Builder Workshop, where participants will continue developing these practical skills before joining EPIC Homes in their mission to build a home for an Orang Asli family.
Because building isn’t just about construction.
It’s about giving ordinary people the confidence and ability to make a real difference, one project at a time.
